The Library

Keep your group's documents, pictures and useful links in one place, and find any of them with one search.

What it is. The Library is one place for three things: Documents, Images and Links. Use the pills under the Library title to move between them. An administrator switches the Library on or off in Settings > Modules, for all three together.

Search. The search box under the pills looks in documents, pictures and links at once. Start typing and matches appear under the box; pick one to open it, or press Search to see them all. Pictures are found by their caption, description, tags and file name.

Documents. Keep your group's papers together: insurance, checklists, minutes, certificates and manuals, in folders. New folder makes a folder (inside the one you are in). Add document uploads a file, with an optional description, a type, an aircraft and an expiry date. Drag a file onto the page to add it, or onto a folder to move it. Choose List or Grid at the top right.

Expiry dates. A document with an expiry date shows In date, Expires in 12 days (when it is within 30 days) or Expired, with the date. The dashboard's To do card lists documents that are expiring or expired, and each folder shows how many of its documents need attention.

Filtering documents. Use the Type and Aircraft filters to narrow the list. While one is on, matching documents are listed from every folder with the folder shown, the panel says how many match, and Clear filters puts everything back. Show archived adds documents that have been archived.

Images. Add pictures with Add pictures, or drag them onto the page. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB each. Each picture is made a sensible size and its location and other hidden details are removed. Open a picture to give it a caption, a description for people who cannot see it, tags (separate them with commas) and an aircraft. Put pictures in an album with New album, then pick the album from the pills above the pictures; while an album is open, new pictures go into it. Tick several pictures to move them to an album or delete them. The Tag and Aircraft filters narrow the pictures, and Clear filters puts everything back.

Public pictures. Pictures are for people in your group unless marked. Tick Can be used publicly on a picture only if it is fine for anyone to see; only those pictures are offered where the public will see a picture, such as in the shop. An administrator, or whoever added the picture, can set this.

Choosing a picture from the Library. Wherever you set a picture, for the group picture, an aircraft photo, or a shop or trial lesson picture, you can choose Choose from the Library instead of a file from your device. The picture is copied, so changing or deleting it in the Library does not change the one already in use.

Links. A shared list of web addresses your group finds useful: weather and NOTAM sites, airfield pages, club or association sites, forms and anything else members keep asking for. Select a title and the link opens in a new tab, so you do not lose your place in Breez.Aero. To add one, select Add link, type or paste the web address (if you leave off the https:// it is added for you), and the page's own title is filled in, which you can change. Add a short description saying what it is and when to use it, for example "Forecasts and TAFs for the area. Check before every flight." Use the pencil to change a link and the bin to delete one.

When a link stops working. Anyone in the group can select Report broken link beside it and, if they wish, add a few words such as "page not found". You can report a link once; it then shows You reported this. The administrators receive a notice in their Inbox (and the bell), and under the link they see who reported it, when, and what they wrote. When the link has been put right, an administrator selects Mark as fixed. Changing the web address of the link clears the reports too.

Who can do what. Everyone in the group can see the Library. In Settings > People, a role can be given Upload and edit documents, Delete documents, Add and edit links, Delete links, Upload and edit images and Delete images, each separately. People can always edit and delete the pictures they added themselves.
